Looking for a fun way to kick off the holiday season on the beach? How about the Southern coastal take on a holiday parade, complete with lights, decor, fireworks, music, and more? That’s right, the 34th Annual Holiday Flotilla is returning to Wrightsville Beach soon… and you don’t want to miss out.
What’s the Wrightsville Beach Holiday Flotilla?
It’s a weekend of fun events, complete with a Tree Lighting, a Festival in the Park, a Launch Party, fireworks, and of course, a spectacular holiday boat parade (with prizes, of course). It starts Friday, November 24 and continues through the end of Saturday. Here’s everything that happening over the weekend:
Tree Lighting & Visit with Santa
Friday Night Launch Party
After the Tree Lighting, the night really gets going with a 7pm Launch Party at Blockade Runner. Live music by The Embers Featuring Craig Woolard, hors d’oeuvres, and a fully-stocked bar provide the promise of a fun night. Tickets are just $35 per person.
The Festival in the Park
Great for kids and adults! From 10am to 4pm on Saturday, November 25, head to Wrightsville Beach Park to enjoy fun, food, and festivities. There’s a children’s play area with bounce houses, Arab Choo Choo, and a coloring contest. And there’s also festival food, arts and crafts booths, and an antique car show for adults.
Flotilla Parade & Fireworks
Finally, the main event! The boat parade starts at 6pm and fireworks follow. You can watch from Wrightsville Beach Park, or the Causeway Bridge Viewing Area. Other popular spots are the South Channel Drive Mini Park, Island Drive Mini Park, or anywhere along the parade route, like the west side of Waynick Boulevard.
Don’t forget to vote for your favorite boats!
Want to Be a Part of the Parade?
Take the fun to a whole new level and join the parade! It’s easy: just sign up, pick a theme, keep your design simple, remember the lights, and start decorating. There are prizes in several categories, including different sizes of power boat, sailboat, best crew costumes, People’s Choice, Best in Show, and more. Plus, you get to join the Launch Party fun.
